Overview

Hospitality at Work is seeking a Building Host to join our growing Washington, DC team. Our innovative approach to property management combines hospitality-inspired services with best-in-class property management services.

As the Building Host, you’ll be responsible for implementing a complete tenant programming and engagement strategy at a Class A office building located in the Southwest submarket. Key responsibilities include planning and executing weekly events and services, developing relationships with local vendors and suppliers, tenant communications and marketing, and budget management. You’ll work closely with the on-site property management team to ensure high levels of tenant satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance tenant satisfaction: Plan, coordinate, and execute tenant engagement events, wellness programs, and sustainability initiatives that foster a sense of belonging and collaboration among tenants.
  • Welcome tenants and guests in a professional and friendly manner, answer questions, and direct individuals to the appropriate services or locations.
  • Manage tenant communications: Facilitate effective communication between tenants and building management, ensuring that tenant inquiries and requests are addressed promptly.
  • Coordinate Tenant Services: Work closely with building management to address tenant needs and requests, including maintenance and facility services.
  • Monitor Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure that all common areas are clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies; promptly address any issues that arise.
  • Gather Tenant Feedback: Conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to understand tenant needs and preferences and use the information to improve services and programs.
  • Engage the Community: Support the local community by connecting tenants to nearby retailers, restaurants, and service providers.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all tenant engagement communications at the property. This includes distributing the building newsletter, preparing flyers and marketing materials, managing and updating all digital signage throughout the building, and sending out push notifications via the building’s mobile app.
  • Amenity Management: Coordinate conference room reservations and assist tenants with catering needs and the use of the conference AV systems.
  • Vendor Management: Curate lists of preferred vendors for fitness-related services, menu tastings, health and wellness services, donation and community service, team building and more.
  • Leasing Support: Assist leasing brokers with prospective tours, welcome new tenants to the building, and arrange for welcome and lease anniversary gifts.
  • Budget Preparation and Management: Collaborate with the Property Manager to develop a comprehensive annual budget for programming and marketing initiatives.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly event/activity reports with associated budget updates and present them to the Property Manager.
  • Training: Support the security and maintenance team by sharing customer service best practices and arranging training as needed.
  • Teamwork: Participate in weekly calls with H@W building hosts nationwide to share best practices and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of event planning and/or customer service experience is required. Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or property management roles is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants, vendors, and building management.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address tenant issues and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Organizational: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage and coordinate multiple events and services.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint is required.

Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 hourly, plus annual bonus eligibility.
