Overview

This is an entry-level building maintenance technician that supports the safe and reliable operation of building systems by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on mechanical, electrical, and other equipment. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems. 
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections including lighting and plumbing inspections and diagnose potential problems. 
  • Assist with installation and repairs to building equipment and systems. 
  • Support energy management by ensuring systems operate efficiently. 
  • Follow work orders, track completion, and communicate clearly with team members. 
  • Use hand and power tools in making minor equipment repairs.
  • The candidate must be available for after-hours rotating on-call duties.

Qualifications

 

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma (1–2 years of job-related experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education) 
  • Experience: 1–2 years of related maintenance experience preferred; in lieu of diploma, a combination of experience and education may be considered 
  • Skills:
    • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards.
    • Strong organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and an inquisitive mindset.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).  
    • Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads (50 lbs or more).  
    • Clear communication skills for exchanging straightforward information.  

Work Environment & Conditions

    • On-site work in small to large commercial office buildings.
    • May require working in varied conditions, including climbing, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting heavy equipment. 
    • Physical demands include frequent movement, climbing, and handling heavy loads.

Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00/hour.
